DGCI grants approval for clinical trials for third dose of Covaxin

The expert panel of India's drug regulator, DCGI, has permitted Bharat Biotech to give the third dose of Covaxin to a few volunteers in its clinical trials of the COVID-19 vaccine, sources said. Bharat Biotech presented amendments to the subject expert committee of the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) in the approved Phase 2 clinical trial protocol for administration of booster dose six months after the second dose.

India logs 81,466 fresh Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, highest single-day jump in six months

The total number of active cases of coronavirus in India crossed the 6 lakh mark after 81,466 new COVID-19 cases were reported across the country on Thursday. The last one-lakh cases were reported in just four days. With this, the number of active cases has reached 6,14,696, as per the daily bulletin by the Union Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Encounter breaks out in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama, three terrorists trapped

Scolded for playing games on mobile, Noida teen jumps to death

A 15-year-old boy allegedly jumped to death from an under-construction building in Noida after he was scolded by his parents, who had asked him not to play games on mobile phone, police said on Thursday. The Class 7 student had gone missing from his home in Sector 110 the under Phase 2 police station limits last night after his parents scolded him, officials said.
