DCGI extends shelf life of Covishield from 6 to 9 months

India's drug regulator DCGI has extended the shelf life of Covishield, the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, from six to nine months from its manufacturing date.

Random Covid-19 screening at Delhi airport from today

The Delhi Airport authorities have decided to conduct random Covid-19 screening of passengers arriving here from different states. According to a statement issued by the Delhi Airport, passengers who are found positive for infection will be mandatorily quarantined. India records 53,480 new COVID-19 cases, 354 deaths in last 24 hours; active cases over 5.52 lakh

India's coronavirus tally jumped to 1,21,49,335 with 53,480 new cases reported in 24 hours, while 354 more fatalities pushed the death toll to 1,62,468, the Union Health Ministry said Wednesday morning. Out of 354 fatalities, 140 were reported from Maharashtra. The country had recorded 355 deaths on December 17.

UP schools shut till April 4 amid COVID-19 case surge

With the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has extended the closure of all schools up to Class 8 to April 4. Earlier, the Yogi Adityanath government had ordered the closure of schools for students up to Class 8 till March 31. The new instructions were given after a late-night meeting on Tuesday, chaired by the chief minister. The chief minister has also ordered officials to increase the number of Covid-19 testing in the state.
