Arms recovered in Assam's Kokrajhar ahead of PM Modi's visit

Aurangabad administration cancels lockdown even as COVID-19 cases surge across state

The lockdown which was to be imposed in Aurangabad from Tuesday night has now been cancelled. Collector Sunil Chauhan told reporters that the lockdown which was to be imposed from March 31 till April 9 has been cancelled. "We have discussed with NGOs, other organizations and political associations, it was also discussed with the government and the lockdown which was scheduled from 12:00 pm till April 9, has been cancelled, he said.

Govt extends exemption from permit requirement for transport vehicles carrying oxygen till Sept 30

The government on Tuesday said it has extended the exemption from permit requirement for transport vehicles carrying oxygen till September 30, 2021 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, the government had announced waiving permit requirement till March 31, 2021.

North Delhi shops, restaurants to now mention if meat is halal or jhatka

Restaurants and shops in north Delhi will now have to "mandatorily" display whether the meat being sold or served is halal or jhatka as the BJP-led North Delhi Municipal Corporation on Tuesday cleared a proposal in this regard, its mayor said. The proposal was recently moved by the Standing Committee of the NDMC. North Delhi Mayor Jai Prakash said the House "cleared the proposal in its meeting today".
