Sex scandal: DK Shivakumar accuses Karnataka govt of shielding Ramesh Jarkiholi

Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar on Tuesday alleged that the BJP government in the state was supporting and standing behind former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, who has been accused of involvement in the sex scandal that has rocked the state politics. "I have nothing to say on this, it is honourable Minister (former Minister) who is involved, which all of you have seen through your eyes, the government is supporting him.. I don't know why the government is behind him, this also shows police's inability," Shivakumar told reporters in Kalaburagi to a question.

Antilia bomb scare row: Aurangabad man claims number plate recovered by NIA belongs to his vehicle

A resident of Aurangabad in Maharashtra has claimed one of the number plates recovered by the NIA from the Mithi river in Mumbai belonged to his van which was stolen last year, a police official said on Tuesday. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is probing the cases of the recovery of an explosives-laden SUV found outside the south Mumbai residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani last month and the subsequent murder of businessman Mansukh Hiran, the purported owner of that vehicle.

Nanded gurdwara violence: 14 arrested for attack on policemen

Police have arrested 14 people in connection with an attack on policemen by a mob of sword-wielding Sikhs in Nanded after they were denied permission to hold a public procession due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an official said on Tuesday. The Wazirabad police in Maharashtra's Nanded district have registered three FIRs against 64 people (who have been named in the FIRs) and other unidentified persons in connection with Monday's incident at the Sri Hazur Sahib gurdwara, he said.

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan takes second dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and his wife Nutan Goel on Tuesday took the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine at the Delhi Heart and Lung Institute. He took the second jab of indigenously developed Covid-19 vaccine 'Covaxin' exactly 28 days after the first shot on March 2. As per the hospital receipt, the 66-year-old Minister paid Rs 250 charges for the vaccine at the private facility. Rs 100 was paid for 'Covid-19 vaccination administration charges' and Rs 150 for 'Covid-19 vaccine charges'.
