India reports nearly 40,000 new Covid cases in a day; tally reaches 1,15,14,331. Check state-wise list

With 39,726 new cases, the COVID-19 tally has reached 1,15,14,331 on Friday, out of which 2,71,282 are active cases, as per the Union Health Ministry's daily bulletin. The Covid death toll has reached 1,59,370 in India as 154 more people lost their lives due to the deadly contagious virus in the last 24 hours.

US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin arrives in India today on three-day visit

Ways to further strengthen India-US strategic ties, boosting cooperation in the Indo-Pacific in the face of growing Chinese assertiveness and the Afghan peace process are expected to be the key focus areas in talks between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and US Defence Secretary Lloyd J Austin on Saturday, people familiar with the development said Thursday. Secretary Austin is scheduled to arrive in Delhi late Friday afternoon as part of his first overseas trip that also took him to Japan and South Korea.

Haryana govt will implement new National Education Policy by 2025: Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said that the state government would implement the new National Education Policy by 2025. He said in the state assembly here that with the introduction of Aadhaar-linked admissions, the number of children enrolled in government schools have come down by two lakh as their names were enrolled in both private and government schools.

Delhi covid cases rising, 609 reported in last 24 hours

Delhi on Thursday witnessed 607 new COVID-19 cases, the highest in nearly 2.5 months. The city also reported one fatality, 384 recoveries. Delhi's total caseload now stands at 6,45,632 including 6,31,759 recoveries. Delhi at present has 2,924 active cases.
