Thieves break into Rani Mahal - Scindia's Jai Vilas Palace in Gwalior

Unidentified persons allegedly broke into Rani Mahal, a part of Jai Vilas Palace, belonging to the Scindias, the erstwhile rulers of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, police said on Wednesday. According to the police, they are yet to ascertain what was stolen and how many thieves entered the premises.

Noida police invokes CrPC 144 ahead of festivals

60 per cent of all active cases concentrated in Maharashtra: Health Ministry

The Union Health Ministry on Wednesday briefed on the Covid situation in the country saying that 60 per cent of active cases are concentrated in Maharashtra. Earlier in the day, PM Modi held a video conference with chief ministers of states, discussing the covid situation and conveying to the leaders that the country has to avoid, stop the second coronavirus wave from emerging.

'Too serious': Supreme Court on Centre cancelling 3 crore ration cards for not linking Aadhaar

The Supreme Court on Wednesday termed the cancellation of around three crore ration cards by the Centre due to non-linking with Aadhaar card as “too serious”, and sought response from the Central government and all states on the issue. A bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde and justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian said this matter should not be treated as adversarial as it is too serious a matter.
