He achieved the rare feat on March 6. Virat's coach Bharath said that he decided to take Virat for mountaineering after a month-long rigorous training. "Virat has that passion in him. He was very excited to train. Unlike many who quit midway through the training," says Bharath.

India records 24,492 new COVID cases, 131 deaths; infection tally passes 1.14 crore-mark
India recorded 24,492 new COVID-19 cases, registering more than 20,000 cases for the sixth day in a row, taking the infection tally past 1.14 crore, the Union health ministry said on Tuesday. The total cases in the country rose to 1,14,09,831, while the death toll increased to 1,58,856, with 131 fresh fatalities, the ministry data updated at 8 am showed.

Kolkata: 1 dead, 10 fall sick after drinking contaminated water in Bhowanipore area
One person has died, while 10 others have fallen ill after drinking contaminated water in Kolkata's Bhowanipore area, a senior civic official said on Monday. Forty-three-year-old Bhubaneswar Das, a resident of labour quarters of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) on Sashi Sekhar Bose Row has died on Saturday after consuming drinking water contaminated with sewage, he said.

Agra administration proposes to revise Taj Mahal ticket prices. Details
The Agra administration has decided to raise the entry ticket prices for both domestic and foreign tourists visiting the Taj Mahal. According to the revised rates, Indian tourists, who presently pay Rs. 50 to enter the monument, will now have to pay Rs. 80, while foreign tourists will have to shell out Rs. 1200, instead of Rs.1100 to enter the Taj.
