The Punjab government has announced to waive farm loans worth Rs 1,186 crore of 1.13 lakh farmers and Rs 526 crore of landless farmers in 2021-22. The announcement was made by state's Finance Minister Manpreet Singh in the Assembly. The minister also proposed in the Budget to raise old age pension from Rs 750 to Rs 1,500/month and grant under Shagun scheme to Rs 51,000.

Entry, exit at several Delhi Metro stations closed - Details
Entry and exit gates of Delhi metro stations from Tikri Kalan to Brigadier Hoshiar Singh on the Green Line section were closed on Monday morning. However, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has not specified the reason for closing the metro stations.

India records 18,599 new COVID cases, 97 fatalities
New cases of coronavirus infection in India were recorded above 18,000 for the third consecutive day taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 1,12,29,398, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday. The active cases also registered an increase for the sixth consecutive day and the COVID-19 active caseload increased to 1,88,747 which now comprises 1.68 per cent of the total infections.
