BJP local leader shot at in West Bengal's Nadia district

A 32-year-old local BJP leader was shot at and injured in Haringhata area of West Bengal’s Nadia district, the police said on Sunday. During a patrol, police personnel found Sanjay Das near a tea stall at Kapileswar Santoshpur and admitted him to a hospital, SP of Ranaghat Police District, VSR Ananthnag, said.

Farooq Abdullah pitches for thaw in Indo-Pak relations

National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Sunday said the people of Jammu and Kashmir are praying that the recent agreement between India and Pakistan on ceasefire holds as it will bring them some relief. Second part of Parliament's Budget session from today; curtailment on cards due to Assembly polls

The second part of the Budget session of Parliament is set to begin from Monday but its duration is likely to be curtailed as most top politicians would be busy campaigning for assembly polls taking place in March-April. As of now, the session will conclude on April 8. Sources said parties across the board support curtailing the session in view of polls in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. However, an official decision is yet to be taken.
