PM Modi to address Combined Commanders' Conference today; jawans to participate

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a conference of the county's top military leadership in Gujarat's Kevadia on Saturday, which will also see the participation of jawans and junior commissioned officers (JCOs) for the first time, according to an official statement on Thursday. The Combined Commanders' Conference, a premier brainstorming event of the military officials, is taking place after three years in Kevadia from Thursday to Saturday, the Department of Military Affairs (DMA) said in a statement.

In talks with Chinese minister, Indian envoy emphasises on complete disengagement in eastern Ladakh

Indian Ambassador to China Vikram Misri on Friday met Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui in Beijing, who was Chinese envoy to India during the Doklam crisis and emphasised the importance of completing the disengagement of troops from the remaining areas in eastern Ladakh, saying it would help restore peace and tranquillity at the border and provide conditions for progress in bilateral ties.

New Delhi, Mar 5: The annual budget of the Delhi government is likely to be “the biggest so far” and have provisions to promote patriotism, sources said on Friday. The Budget Session of Delhi Assembly, scheduled to begin from March 8, will have no question hour. The budget for financial year 2021-22 will be tabled in the House on March 9, they said.

Magnitude 3.6 earthquake hits Ladakh

An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter Scale hit Ladakh early on Saturday. According to the National Center for Seismology, the tremors were felt at 5:11 am. The epicentre of the earthquake was yet not known.

IndiGo passenger says he is COVID positive; airline offloads him at Delhi airport

In a bizarre incident, a male passenger on a Pune-bound IndiGo flight was offloaded at the Delhi airport on Thursday evening after he told cabin crew that he was coronavirus positive just as the aircraft was preparing for take-off, according to sources.
