Union health minister Harsh Vardhan and his wife Smt Nutan took the coronavirus vaccine shot on Tuesday. The health minister took the vaccine shot at Delhi Heart and Lung Institute. An earlier release from the health ministry had said, "Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, along with his wife Smt Nutan will take the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine. IndiGo flight diverted to Karachi due to medical emergency onboard

A Lucknow-bound IndiGo flight from Sharjah was diverted to Karachi airport, in Pakistan on Tuesday after a medical emergency onboard. The passenger who had the medical emergency could not be revived and was declared dead on arrival by the airport medical team, IndiGo said in a statement.

India records 12,286 new COVID cases, 91 fatalities in past 24 hours

India's COVID-19 cases rose to 1,11,24,527 with 12,286 new infections being reported in a day, while the recoveries have surged to 1,07,98,921, according to data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday. The death toll increased to 1,57,248 with 91 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.

Farmers protest: Delhi-Ghaziabad road via Ghazipur reopens for vehicular traffic

The road connecting Delhi with Ghaziabad via Ghazipur has been reopened for the vehicular movement. The road was closed for vehicular traffic since January 26 when violence unleashed on Delhi roads during the tractor parade by farmers. The closure of the route led to traffic snarls in nearby roads as the public had to take alternative routes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan passed away on Tuesday morning at a private hospital in Gurugram. A Lok Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa. Chauhan was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after being rushed from Bhopal following a deterioration in his health. He had tested positive for coronavirus.
