Three Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MPs in Rajya Sabha have been suspended from attending the House proceedings for rest of the day. The MPs are Sanjay Singh, Narain Dass Gupta and Sushil Kumar Gupta.
A fire broke out in three shops located in a building in Ahmedabad's Naranpura locality on Wednesday morning, a fire official said. Eight people were rescued from the premises, he said. The blaze erupted around 6.30 am in the shops located on the ground floor of the three-story building, he said.
Amid the ongoing farmers' protest, BKU leader Rakesh Tikait is set to attend a farmers’ “mahapanchayat” in Haryana’s Jind district today. The mahapanchayat aims to gather support for the agitation against the Centre's new farm laws. Speaking to the media, Tikait on Wednesday said such panchayats will be held across the country until the government accepts the demands of farmers. Earlier, the BKU leader had said the farmers will organise a pan-country tractor rally of 40 lakh tractors if the government does not listen to them untill October. 
Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) employees on Tuesday protested against the government's proposal of disinvestment of the corporation in Coimbatore.
