A fire broke out at the Maniyari police station in Muzaffarpur on early Wednesday with an official citing an electric short circuit as the reason for the blaze, news agency ANI reported.

 Cold wave prevailed in parts of Odisha, with minimum temperatures remaining below 10 degrees Celsius at nine places, the Met office said on Tuesday. Phulbani, the district headquarters of Kandhamal, recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 4.5 degrees Celsius.

"They will probably be discharged by tomorrow morning," he added.

Karnataka ACB raids 30 locations; huge cash, gold, silver articles recovered

Karnataka Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths carried out simultaneous raids across 30 places in the state belonging to seven government officials since the wee hours of the Tuesday morning and recovered huge cash, gold and silver articles. According to the KACB note, simultaneous raids were carried out in Bengaluru, Kolar, Dharwad Ballari, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga and Kalaburgi on receiving complaints about amassing wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.
