Govt offer to farmers still stands, solution to be found through dialogue: PM Modi at all-party meet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while expressing regret over the vandalisation of Mahatma Gandhi's statue in the United States on Saturday reiterated that the government proposal given to farmers on January 22 still stands and should be communicated to all by the leaders of the political parties. The prime minister quoted Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar while informing the leaders of all parties about the government's stand on farm laws.

Mumbai Metro extends operational hours from February 1. Check new timings

With the opening of suburban trains services from February 1, Mumbai Metro will extend the operational hours from Monday. The metro services will be available from 6.50 am at Versova and 7.15 am at Ghatkopar from Monday onwards.

Farmers' protest: Internet services suspended across several Delhi borders, adjoining areas

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has temporarily suspended internet services at the Singhu, Ghazipur, and Tikri borders, where farmers have been protesting against the new agri laws, an official said on Saturday. Apart from the three borders of Delhi, internet services will remain suspended in their adjoining areas too effective from 11 pm of January 29 to 11 pm of January 31, the official said.

Odisha govt issues unlock guidelines for February

Novavax Vaccine: Hope to launch Covovax by June 2021, says Adar Poonawalla

After successfully launching coronavirus vaccine COVISHIELD, the Serum Institute of India (SII) has applied to India’s drugs controller for permission to conduct small domestic trial in India for Novavax’s Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccine candidate 'COVOVAX', SII chief Adar Poonawalla on Saturday said. Novavax, which was found to be 89.3% effective in a UK trial, is the second Covid-19 vaccine that the company will be manufacturing locally.
