Kashmir reels under harshest winter in decades as Mercury settles below freezing point

Kashmir reeled under intense cold wave conditions on Friday as the mercury stayed several degrees below the freezing point, resulting in the freezing of several water bodies including Dal Lake. Srinagar recorded a low of minus 7.6 degrees Celsius which is around five degrees below normal for this time of the year.

Delhi's air quality in 'severe' category, AQI at 431

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded in the 'severe' category on Friday as citizens woke up to an extremely foggy morning and poor visibility. The city's overall air quality was reported at 431 by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), falling in the 'severe' category.

Bengaluru gets 6-km metro line from Yelachanahalli to Anjanapura; service begins today

After Chinese vaccine show poor efficacy, Brazil sends special aircraft to pick 2 million doses from India

With India all set to launch the world's largest COVID-19 vaccination program on Saturday, Brazil is planning to send a special flight to Mumbai to lift at least two million doses of the vaccine. According to a report in The Indian Express, a specially equipped aircraft from Brazil is expected to land in Mumbai over to weekend.

Farmer leaders agree to attend ninth round of talks with Centre on agri laws without 'much hope'
