23 Indian ship crew stranded off China sail for Japan

In glad tidings, 23 Indian crew members aboard the ship 'MV Jag Anand' stuck off China for over six months, were allowed to set sail for a port in Japan on Saturday evening, the National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI) said.

Kanpur zoo shut for 15 days after samples of dead fowls confirm bird flu

Samples of fowls found dead at Kanpur zoo have tested positive for bird flu, following which the Kanpur zoo has been shut for 15 days. Four birds were found dead in the zoo premises on January 6 and the samples were sent to Animal Disease Laboratory in Bhopal under high security. The reports on Saturday confirmed the presence of H-5 strain bird flu in the dead jungle fowls. Zoo Director Dr. Sunil Choudhary said that the zoo has been closed for visitors for 15 days. The hospital enclosure where the infected birds had been placed, has also been shut down.

RT-PCR test mandatory for UK returnees to Karnataka

With the resumption of passenger flights from the United Kingdom to India and the first flight to Bengaluru scheduled early on Sunday, Karnataka Health Minister K. Odisha: 26 teachers, 2 students test positive for COVID-19 in Gajapati after schools reopen

17 in Delhi so far test positive for UK strain of coronavirus

A total of 17 Delhi residents have tested positive for the new coronavirus strain first detected in the UK to date and 10 of them have been discharged from hospital after recovery, sources said on Saturday. After the new strain was detected in the UK in December, the Delhi government had started a door-to-door medical check-up of people who had arrived from the UK previously and persons who came in their contact in the city.
