Maiden run of train connecting Bengaluru with airport begins

The maiden run of the train from the Bengaluru City Railway Station to the Kempegowda International Airport started on Monday, much to the delight of commuters demanding the facility for over a decade. Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa joined many others to greet people on the occasion.

HC allows termination of 25-week pregnancy as foetus unlikely to survive with abnormalities

The Delhi High Court Monday granted permission to a woman for medical termination of her 25-week pregnancy as the survival of the foetus, suffering from serious abnormalities, is unlikely. The high court allowed the petition by the 25-year-old pregnant woman who was seeking permission to abort the foetus on the ground that it was suffering from Bilateral Agenesis and Anlyaramni, considering the report of AIIMS that the condition is poor and “survival of foetus is unlikely”.

UP: Miscreants try to burn alive Muslim family that converted to Hinduism recently

The house of a family in Rae Bareli that embraced Hinduism recently was burnt down by unidentified miscreants last week. According to reports available, Mohammad Anwar had converted to Hinduism three months ago. Subsequently, he changed his name to Dev Prakash Patel. He also changed the names of his children to Devnath, Deendayal and Durga Devi.

Bharat Biotech's Covaxin cleared for conducting clinical trials on children above 12 years

The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has given licensing permission to Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech to manufacture 'Covaxin' for sale and distribution. The DCGI approval document said the firm can vaccinate children above the age of 12 years during the clinical trial mode. However, the DCGI has also asked the Bharat Biotech to submit updated safety, efficacy and immunogenicity data from the ongoing Phase I, II and Ill clinical trials till the completion of trials.
