India-UK flight services to resume from Jan 8

Flight services between India and UK will resume from January 8, 2020, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Friday. Last month, these services were suspended to stop the spread of a mutant Covid-19 strain which was recently discovered in the UK.

Rs 3,269 crore fraud! CBI books Shakti Bhog Foods for duping SBI-led group of banks

Delhi-based Shakti Bhog Foods Limited was booked by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday for an alleged fraud of Rs 3,269 crore. The company, which sells packaged wheat flour, cookies and other items, has been accused of duping a consortium of 10 banks led by the State Bank of India (SBI).

Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine gets recommendation for emergency use, DCGI to take final call

An expert panel on COVID-19 of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) on Friday recommended to grant emergency use authorisation for the Oxford COVID-19 vaccine Covishield, being manufactured by Serum Institute of India, sources said on Friday. The Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII), the world's largest vaccine manufacturer, has tied up with AstraZeneca to manufacture Covishield.
