Mumbai civic body prepares blueprint for Covid-19 vaccine distribution, storage plan

As India may begin its COVID-19 vaccination drive as early as January 2021, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has prepared a vaccine administration, distribution and storage plan. The civic body has identified eight hospitals as Covid-19 vaccination centres — KEM Hospital, Sion Hospital, Nair Hospital, Cooper Hospital, Bandra Bhabha Hospital, VN Desai Hospital, Rajawadi Hospital and Bharat Ratna Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital and aims to train its staff for vaccination by January 7.

5 passengers, crew members from UK who landed in Delhi test positive for Covid-19

As many as five people out of 266 passengers and crew members of a flight have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The flight arrived at the Delhi airport from London on Monday night. Speaking to news agency ANI, Nodal officer for Covid-19 said that their samples have been sent to the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for research and they have been sent to a care centre.

Coldwave conditions likely in Delhi over next 4 days; air quality 'very poor'

Parts of Delhi are likely to witness coldwave conditions over the next four days, the India Meteorological Department said on Tuesday, adding, the minimum temperature is expected to drop to three to four degrees Celsius. Moderate to dense fog is also predicted during the period, it said. The Safdarjung Observatory, which provides representative data for the city, recorded a minimum of 5.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, the IMD said.

Armed with hope and a revolutionary poem by noted Punjabi poet 'Pash', a farmer cycled nearly 400 km from Fardikot to the Tikri border here to join the massive protest by peasants against the new farm laws. Wearing a kurta-pyjama with a sleeveless warm jacket and sporting a bright green turban, Pal Sandhu, a resident of Rameana village in Faridkot district of Punjab, on Monday listened intently to the speeches made by farmer leaders at the protest site near the Delhi-Haryana border.

PM Modi to address centenary celebrations at AMU today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at the virtual centenary celebrations of Aligarh Muslim University on Tuesday, where he will also address the centenary celebrations of the university, via video conferencing.
