Jammu and Kashmir DDC Election Results 2020 LIVE: Counting of votes to begin at 9 am

The results of the Jammu and Kashmir District Development Council (DDC) elections 2020 will be announced on Tuesday. According to the state Election Commission, elaborate arrangements are in place for to ensure smooth conduct of the process. The results could be accessed online on the commission's website. As many as 2,178 people contested the elections for 280 DDC seats. This is the first elections in Jammu and Kashmir after the Centre scrapped Article 370 and bifurcated it into two Union Territories. The overall voting percentage in all the eight phases was 54.42 per cent. Over 30 lakh votes will be counted on Tuesday.

One death each due to dengue, malaria in Delhi this year: Civic body report

The national capital has reported one death each due to dengue and malaria so far this year, a report released by the South Delhi civic body on Monday said. The death due to malaria is also the first in the city in over six years, it said. The sole dengue victim this year was a 12-year-old boy, a senior official said.

Karnataka local body election 2020: Voting for 3,019 gram panchayats today

A total of 3,019 panchayats in 117 taluks across Karnataka will go for polling in the first phase of Gram Panchayat elections today. A total of 1.17 lakh candidates are in the fray for 43,238 seats. Voting will be held between 7am to 5pm.
