Farmers again block Delhi-Noida Chilla border, demand complete repeal of farm laws

Farmers have once again blocked the Delhi-Noida Chilla border to press for their demand to repeal the three farm laws. The road has been closed due to a sit-in demonstration by some farmers at the border.

Delhi records minimum temperature at 5.8 degree Celsius, IMD predicts 'cold wave' for next two days

Dense fog blanketed parts of Delhi on Wednesday as it recorded a minimum temperature of 5.8 degrees Celsius in the morning, three notches below the normal temperature. The India Meteorological Department has predicted both "cold day" and "cold wave" in parts of Delhi on Thursday and Friday.

Willing to continue talks with genuine farm unions, says Narendra Singh Tomar

Union Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said that the government is willing to hold talks with the genuine farm unions to break the logjam over the three farm laws. Tomar also reiterated that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) will continue as it is and underlined that the new laws have been welcomed in various states across the country.

HSRP and colour-coded fuel stickers: Locations where challans issued in Delhi, application process explained

The Delhi transport department on Tuesday issued 239 challans to vehicle owners for high-security registration plates (HSRP) and colour-coded sticker violation.  They were issued a fine of ₹5,500, said KK Dahiya, special commissioner(operations) of transport department. The "limited" enforcement drive had begun in nine districts of the national capital on Tuesday (December 15) with a team deployed in each district. The objective of the 'limited enforcement drive' is to sensitise vehicle owners to follow provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, news agency PTI reported.

India records 26,382 new COVID cases, 387 deaths in 24 hrs; tally nears 10 million mark

India on Wednesday recorded 26,382 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the country's total tally to 99,32,548, according to the Union Health Ministry's data. The national recovery rate is now at 95.21%. With 387 new deaths, India's toll of coronavirus-related deaths has mounted to 1,44,096.

8 years of Nirbhaya gangrape-murder case: Will not sit in silence, says mother Asha Devi

Eight years after the brutal December 16 gangrape in Delhi, Nirbhaya's mother today said justice has been delivered to her daughter, adding she will continue to fight for justice for all rape victims. "Justice has been delivered to my daughter. But it doesn't mean that I will sit in silence. I'll continue to fight for justice to all rape victims," Asha Devi, mother of the 2012 Delhi gang-rape victim said today.
