Karnataka road transport staff makes U-turn, to continue strike

Making a U-turn hours after withdrawing 4-day strike and resuming bus services, the Karnataka road transport employees decided on Sunday night to continue the agitation till all their demands were met by the state government.

Farmers' protest: Group of Jamia Millia Islamia students sent back from UP Gate

Farmers protesting against the Centre's new agricultural laws on Sunday refused to allow a group of Jamia Millia Islamia students to join their agitation at the UP Gate (Ghaziabad)-Ghazipur (Delhi) border. According to the police, a group of six students, including girls, had arrived at the spot to render support to the farmers by singing and playing 'dafli' (tambourine). However, the police sent the students back after the farmer leaders objected to their presence there, DSP Anshu Jain said.

Gen. Naravane holds talks with top Saudi generals; discusses ways to enhance defence cooperation

Indian Army chief General M M Naravane on Sunday met top Saudi generals and discussed issues of common interest and ways to enhance bilateral defence cooperation during his historic visit to the Gulf Kingdom. Gen Naravane, who arrived in Saudi Arabia on the second leg of his two-nation visit that included the United Arab Emirates, is the first-ever head of the Indian Army to travel to the two strategically important Gulf countries.

IRCTC denies mailing Sikhs on govt’s behalf amid farmers’ protest

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has denied reaching out to the Sikh community through emails on behalf of the central government amid ongoing farmers’ protests. A report in a section of media said that IRCTC has initiated sending out emails with attachment of 47 pages titled “PM Modi and his government’s special relationship with Sikhs”.
