UP woman lodges FIR under new anti-conversion law

A 21-year-old woman has lodged an FIR for rape and forced religious conversion at the Shahabad police station in Hardoi. This is the fifth FIR registered under the new law under which as many as 28 persons have been booked till now in Sitapur, Mau, Bareilly and Muzaffarnagar.

Pakistan using heavier artillery for ceasefire violations at LoC: Army vice chief

Vice Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Lt Gen Satinder Kumar Saini on Saturday said ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir have increased with an escalation in the caliber of artillery used by the other side to target the innocent civilians. Addressing the media at the Indian Military Academy Passing Out Parade, Saini said, "The ceasefire violations across the LoC have increased this year if you compare the figures with last year or the year before that. We have also seen that there has been caliber escalation in terms of artillery being used from across the LoC to target innocent civilians."

15 injured in LPG cylinder blast in UP district

With 30,254 new cases, 391 deaths in a day, India's COVID-19 tally crosses 98.57 lakh; recovery rate at 94.93%

India on Sunday registered 30,254 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally to 98.57 lakh, according to health ministry data. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease crossed 93,57,464, pushing the national recovery rate to 94.93 per cent.
