Congress' hypocrisy on farm laws exposed: Prakash Javadekar

Union minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday said that the opposition parties, especially the Congress and the NCP, are doing politics over the farm laws. Speaking to India TV, Javadekar exuded confidence that the government will persuade the agitating farmers as he reiterated that the new laws in their interest.

Kejriwal under house arrest since his return after visiting farmers, claims AAP; Police denies

The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi has claimed that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been put under house arrest on Tuesday, a day after he visited the farmers protesting at the Singhu border. "BJP's Delhi Police has put CM Arvind Kejriwal under house arrest ever since he visited farmers at Singhu Border yesterday. No one has been permitted to leave or enter his residence," said the Aam Aadmi Party in a tweet.

On Monday, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva had declared 'Invest India' as the winner of the United Nations Investment Promotion Award 2020. UNCTAD is the central agency that monitors the performance of investment promotion agencies and identifies global best practices. Bharat Bandh: APMCs remain shut in many parts of Maharastra

In view of the Bharat Bandh called by agitating farmer unions to press for repeal of the Centre's agri laws, Agriculture Produce Market Committees (APMCs) are closed today in many parts of Maharashtra. Wholesale markets in major cities like Pune, Nashik, Nagpur and Aurangabad remained shut. Retail shops also downed shutters in many cities.

India reports 26,567 single-day COVID cases, 385 deaths; tally crosses 97 lakh-mark

India's COVID-19 caseload crossed the 97,000,00-mark on Tuesday, while the number of people who have recuperated from the disease crossed 91,78,946, pushing the national recovery rate to 94.59 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry data. The total coronavirus cases mounted to 97,03,770 with 26,567 new infections being reported in a day, while the death toll climbed to 1,40,958 with 385 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.
