PM Modi, Shah pay tribute to BR Ambedkar on his death anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tributes to the architect of the Constitution Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 64th death anniversary which is observed as "Mahaparinirvana Diwas". Taking to twitter, PM Modi said government is committed to fulfilling the dreams that the leader had for India, adding that his thoughts continue to provide strength to millions of people.

Farmers continue protest against farm laws as 5th round of talks ends in deadlock; security enhanced

Thousands of farmers protesting against the Centre's new farm laws stayed put on the borders of Delhi with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, as their fifth round of talks with the government ended in a deadlock. The protests led to the blockade of key routes leading to Delhi, which resulted in long traffic jams. Meanwhile, the government has proposed another meeting on December 9 with the representatives of protesting farmers and requested them to send back the elderly, women and children to their homes from the protest sites. The agitating farmers had on Friday announced a 'Bharat bandh' on December 8 and threatened to intensify their agitation and block more roads leading to the national capital if the government did not accept their demands.

Rajasthan wedding guest limit: Govt to cancel owners license if guests exceed 100 at venue

SAD leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal briefly hospitalised following breathing difficulties

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal was admitted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research in Chandigarh, on Saturday after she complained of breathing issues. She was discharged soon after. Badal has tested negative for the novel coronavirus. The SAD leader had resigned from the Union Cabinet in September in protest against three farm sector bills, which later got the President's assent after being passed by Parliament.

CAA likely to be implemented from January: Kailash Vijayvargiya

Pfizer seeks emergency use authorisation for its COVID-19 vaccine in India

After securing a clearance by its parent company in the United Kingdom and Bahrain, Pfizer India has become the first pharmaceutical firm to seek from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) an emergency use authorisation for its COVID-19 vaccine in India. The firm, in its application submitted to the drug regulator, has sought permission to import the vaccine for sale and distribution in the country, besides waiver of clinical trials on Indian population in accordance with the special provisions under the New Drugs and Clinical Trials Rules, 2019, official sources said.
