Minimum temperatures dip below freezing point in Kashmir Valley, Ladakh

The weather office has forecast dry and cold weather across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh till Saturday, while night temperatures across Kashmir have again dropped below freezing point on Wednesday. Morning chill kept most Kashmiris indoors on Wednesday till a feeble sun started struggling its way through thin layer of winter clouds.

IMA calls for strike on Dec 11 over ayurveda surgery move

The IMA on Tuesday gave a call to all doctors practicing modern medicine to withdraw non-essential and non-COVID services on December 11 in protest against a Central Council of Indian Medicine notification which authorises post-graduate practitioners in specified streams of Ayurveda to be trained to perform general surgical procedures.

59% Indians sceptical about COVID-19 vaccine, say they won't rush to take it: Survey

While chances of an affordable Covid-19 vaccine being available by February 2021 may seem high, 59 per cent of people have said they won’t rush to take it, according to a recent survey. The online survey conducted by LocalCircles, received more than 25,000 responses from across 262 districts of India, of which 69 per cent respondents were men and 31 per cent were women. The survey responses were also compared to responses to a similar survey conducted in October.

AYUSH medicines allowed to Covid patients as add-on treatment: Govt tells SC

Delhi's air quality 'very poor'; inches closer to 'severe' zone

Air quality in the national capital was recorded in the 'very poor' category on Wednesday, while pollution levels have already entered the “severe” zone in the neighbouring cities of Ghaziabad and Greater Noida. The city's air quality index (AQI) was 381 at 9 am. The 24-hour average was 367 on Tuesday. It was 318 on Monday and 268 on Sunday. Ghaziabad and Greater Noida recorded an AQI of 430 and 410, respectively.

Earthquake tremors felt in Ghaziabad

An earthquake measuring 2.7 on the Richter Scale hit Ghaziabad on Wednesday morning. According to the National Centre for Sesimology, the tremors were felt at 4.05 am at a depth of 5 kilometres.
