SC expresses displeasure over shirtless man being visible on screen during hearing

Covishield safe and immunogenic, incident with Chennai volunteer no way induced by it: Serum Institute

Vaccine major Serum Institute of India on Tuesday rejected charges that it's COVID-19 vaccine candidate 'Covidshield' has serious side effects, adding that the incident with the Chennai volunteer is no way induced by the vaccine. In a press note the drug maker said, "Covishield safe & immunogenic. Incident with the Chennai volunteer no way induced by the vaccine. All regulatory & ethical processes & guidelines were followed. Principal Investigator, DSMB & Ethics Committee stated it was non-related issue to vaccine trial."

Depression over Bay of Bengal likely to intensify into cyclonic storm, fishing operations suspended

Fishing operations in the Bay of Bengal region have been suspended from November 30 to December 4 after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday informed about a depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal. According to the IMD, the depression moved westwards in the last six hours and is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm.

UP district officials authorised to impose night curfew to contain COVID-19 spread

In order to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the state, district officials in Uttar Pradesh have been authorised to impose local restrictions, including night curfews, depending on the assessment and requirement of the situation. According to a circular issued by Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari, the District Magistrates (DMs) can assess the situation and take action accordingly.
