Two persons were injured when a bomb exploded in the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) complex on Monday, a police officer said. A 40-year-old man and his wife who had come to the hospital for treatment were injured in the blast that occurred at around 9.30 am, near a sentry post in the RIMS complex, the officer said.

Avalanche warning issued for four districts in Kashmir
Authorities in Kashmir issued an avalanche warning in four districts of the valley on Monday as the higher reaches of the union territory received moderate to heavy snowfall, while the plains were lashed by rains. The avalanche warning has been issued in Kupwara, Bandipora and Baramulla districts of north Kashmir, and Ganderbal district in central Kashmir, officials said.

Nearly 70 per cent of Delhiites didn't burn firecrackers on Diwali this year: Gopal Rai
Nearly 70 per cent people in the national capital refrained from bursting firecrackers on Diwali this year, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on Monday. This was after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had imposed a ban on the same and the results will be better next year, Rai asserted. He also said that a long-term solution to the problem of pollution "cannot be found in a day". "Around 70 per cent of the residents of the city did not burn firecrackers after the government imposed a ban on the same. I hope that the results will be better next year," he told reporters.

A group of suspected Naxalites blew up a community building in Bodhi Bigha village in Gaya district of Bihar, police said on Monday. A police official said that the armed Naxalites went to the village in Dumaria police station area on Sunday night and blew up the building by using explosives.

Security forces thwart infiltration attempt by 300 terrorists at launching pads of Pakistan
