This recklessness, more evident ahead of Diwali, may lead to a resurgence in novel coronavirus infections and stall the progress in curbing the disease, the experts said.

Frothing in Yamuna: DPCC seals two polluting units, orders closure of 15 others
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has sealed two polluting units and ordered closure of 15 others which may have caused frothing in the Yamuna. The polluting units which were sealed included an automobile service station-cum-showroom in Patparganj industrial area and a jeans dyeing and washing unit in Lawrence Road industrial area which were found operating without effluent treatment plants.

UP DIG suspended after audio clip reveals close links with slain gangster Vikas Dubey
The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh suspended Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Anant Dev Tiwari after his alleged nexus with slain gangster Vikas Dubey was revealed. With this, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh P was served a show-cause notice as the Uttar Pradesh government initiates action against those police personnel found to have been hand-in-glove with the slain gangster.

8 UP cities to get 18 new air quality monitoring stations as pollution rises
The process of setting up 18 new Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations (CAAQMS) has begun across 8 cities of Uttar Pradesh, by the UPPCB (Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board). Five of these air quality monitoring stations will come up in Agra, one each in Mathura and Firozabad, two each in Lucknow and Kanpur besides three each in Varanasi and Prayagraj. One station will also be set up in Gorakhpur. The development comes as air pollution across different north Indian states is at an all time high.

Moderate to heavy snowfall likely in J&K, Ladakh
Moderate to heavy snowfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir in the next few days as per the local weather office. An advisory issued by the local weather office said, "Scattered to fairly widespread precipitation is very likely to occur over J&K and Ladakh between November 14 to 15".
