Delhi's air quality continues to be 'severe'; relief unlikely soon

Air quality in the national capital was recorded 'severe' on Tuesday. According to the data provided by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality index is at 469 in ITO, 489 in Narela, 497 in Sector 51, Gurugram (Haryana), and 480 in Sector 62, Noida (Uttar Pradesh), all in 'severe category'. Earlier on Monday, Delhi's air quality index (AQI) stood at 477 - the highest since November 3 last year when it was 494, according to Central Pollution Control Board data.

Assam-Mizoram border row: Partial inter-state movement allowed as NH 306 blockade continues

The 13-day-old blockade of the National Highway (NH) 306 in Assam continues as the protesters refused to relent, police said, adding 21 goods trucks moved to Mizoram and many vehicles returned to Assam from the border state on Monday. Assam Police officials said that attempts were made to convince the agitators, but they refused to call off the lockade until the Mizoram government withdrew their security personnel forces from Assam's Cachar and Karimganj districts.

Pre-wedding photoshoot turns tragic as couple drowns in Mysuru river

In a tragic incident, a couple drowned in Cauvery river in Narsipura's Talakadu while they had gone to the site for their pre-wedding shoot. The incident was reported after the coracle in which the couple was sitting capsized in the river. According to the police, the deceased couple has identified as Chandru, 28, and Shashikala, 20, both from Kyatamaranahalli in Tirumakudalu Narsipura, a quaint temple town on the outskirts of Mysuru.

Gurugram SHO, SI suspended over negligence in road accident case

Now, parents' consent mandatory to attend offline classes in Karnataka colleges

College students who wish to attend offline classes in Karnataka must bring in a consent letter duly signed by their parents.
