Jewellery worth Rs 35 lakh goes missing from PNB locker in UP's Gorakhpur, FIR lodged

A retired government official has alleged that jewellery worth over Rs 35 lakh has gone missing from the bank locker in Gorakhpur. He has lodged an FIR in the matter at the Cantt. police station while the bank has also ordered a probe into the matter.

7 dead in collision between car, dumper truck in MP's Satna

At least seven people were killed, while five others were injured in a road accident in Madhya Pradesh on Monday. According to the details, the accident was reported from Satna in the state, where a car collided with a dumper truck.

Claims through affidavit form now no longer required under Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana

The Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana of ESIC (Employees' State Insurance Corporation) now no longer requires claims through affidavit form. According to a notification by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the form can now be submitted online along with scanned copies. During a meeting on August 20 this year, the ESIC had extended the scheme 'Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana'.

India reports single day 45,903 COVID-19 cases, 490 deaths; recoveries exceed 79 lakh-mark

India recorded as many as 45,903 COVID-19 cases and 490 deaths in the last 24 hours, data updated by the Union Health Ministry at 8.00 am on Monday showed.  The number of people who have recovered from the disease has crossed 79 lakh, pushing the national recovery rate to 92.56 per cent.

Delhi air quality deteriorates: AQI in Anand Vihar, Mundka, Okhla, Wazirpur 'severe'

The national capital's air quality has been deteriorating with increased stubble burning in Punjab and nearby regions. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 484 in Anand Vihar which falls in the 'severe' category. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Earth Sciences' air quality monitor System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR) said the situation was unlikely to improve unless a drastic reduction takes place in stubble fire counts.

UP: 2 held in cow slaughter case injured in police encounter after escape bid

Two alleged cow slaughterers were injured in an encounter with police in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida after they tried to escape when they were taken to a spot where they claimed to have hidden weapons used for slaughtering cattle, officials said. The accused, Waseem and Zeeshan, attacked the policemen who were accompanying them, they said.
