'Won't accept any shift in Line of Actual Control': CDS Bipin Rawat talks tough on Ladakh standoff

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat on Friday said that situation along Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh remains tense. He said that China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) is facing unanticipated consequences for its misadventure in Ladakh because of firm responses by Indian forces.

US: Hyderabad man stabbed to death in Georgia

A 37-year-old man from Hyderabad has been stabbed to death by unknown persons in Georgia, the US, his family said. Mohammed Arif Mohiuddin, who was running a grocery store, was stabbed when he opened the door of his house at the Crawley Street in Thomaston city.

Posters of anti-CAA activists labelled 'wanted', 'absconders' appear in Lucknow

Posters with photographs of activists who had campaigned against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) earlier this year have reappeared in Lucknow. The posters that came up late Thursday, announced a reward of Rs 5,000 for anyone who provides information about the accused persons. Photographs of eight anti-CAA activists were labelled 'wanted' and declared them 'absconders', along with their names and addresses. An announcement regarding them was also made on a loudspeaker in the old city areas.

Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal govt bans firecrackers ahead of Diwali as toxic air chokes capital

Moderate intensity earthquake jolts Chamba in Himachal Pradesh

An earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter Scale struck Himachal Pradesh early on Friday. According to the National Center for Seismology, the tremors were felt in Chamba at 6:25 am today. The exact epicentre of the earthquake was yet not known.

Karnataka tourists return 80 kms to pick trash thrown in open after video goes viral on social media

Two tourists in Karnataka had to drive back from Madikeri to Kodagu after they threw trash in the open. According to the details, the incident dates back to October 30, when the tourists were asked to collect the waste they had thrown after Kodagu Tourism Association's General Secretary posted the video of garbage on social media.
