Delhi's air quality on Friday continued to deteriorate to its worst level 'Severe category', according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). It said that Air Quality Index is at 422 in Anand Vihar, 407 in RK Puram, 421 in Sector 8 of Dwarka, and 430 in Bawana. At ITO, the board said that AQI was at 448. All are in the 'Severe category'.

Tamil Nadu to ban online games involving money; those organising games to be jailed
The Tamil Nadu government is taking steps to ban online games involving money, Chief Minister K. Palaniswami said on Thursday. Talking to reporters in Coimbatore, Palaniswami said taking into account that many persons have committed suicide due to online rummy, the government is taking steps to ban the online games played with money stakes.

J&K: Terrorist killed during ongoing encounter with security forces in Pampore
At least one unidentified terrorist was killed during an ongoing encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The gunfight, which began Thursday evening was reported from Lalpora area of Pampore. According to the details, the joint police team of Awantipora and Pulwama had received inputs about terrorists firing upon two individuals in Tral Awantipora and Wanpora Pulwama.

All insults against SC/STs can't be termed as offence under SC/ST Act: Supreme Court
The Supreme Court on Thursday said that an offence under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act is not made out on the fact that the complainant is a member of SC or ST. A bench comprising Justices L. Nageswara Rao, Hemant Gupta and Ajay Rastogi said: "All insults or intimidations to a person will not be an offence under the Act unless such insult or intimidation is on account of victim belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe."

Pune man drags traffic cop on car bonnet to evade fine for not wearing mask. Watch Video
An on-duty traffic police personnel was dragged on the bonnet of a car in Pune after he attempted to stop the vehicle. The incident was reported from Pimpri-Chinchwad, where the policeman tried to stop the car after he spotted those inside the vehicle without masks. The driver of the car was later arrested as he tried to evade a fine for not wearing a mask.

Unruly scenes were witnessed in the Haryana Assembly on Thursday over the duration of the session and the farm laws enacted by the Centre with the opposition Congress staging a walkout from the House. During the first day of the second part of the monsoon session, the Congress objected to the two-day duration of the session.
