Trains continue to be suspended in Punjab amid ongoing agitation by farmers: Railways
Train operations in Punjab have yet not been resumed, the railways said on Thursday, adding the railway operations will continue to be suspended due to the ongoing agitation by farmers. Commenting further, spokesperson for Northern Railways today said no train services have been resumed. The statement by the railway official came amid speculations that train operations had been restored in the agitation hit the state.

Heavy rains lash Chennai; several roads, areas waterlogged

India records 49,881 new coronavirus cases, 517 deaths in a day; tally surges past 80-lakh mark
India on Thursday recorded as many as 49,881 new coronavirus cases in a day, pushing caseload to above 80 lakh mark. With 517 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, the toll rose to 1,20,527, according to the health ministry figures published 8 am. New coronavirus infections reported in India in a span of 24 hours dropped below 50,000 after months.
