Glenmark Pharma gets USFDA nod for generic drug

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals on Monday said it has received approval from the US health regulator to market Sirolimus tablets, an immunosuppressant, in the American market. The company's US-based subsidiary has received final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for the product which is a generic version of PF Prism CV's Rapamune tablets, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals said in a statement.

Vrindavan's Bankey Bihari temple shut 'indefinitely' as over 25,000 devotees turn up to offer prayers

The famous Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan will remain shut 'indefinitely' from Monday, barely two days after it was reopened for devotees. The temple had reopened on Saturday, the first day of 'Navratri', after a seven-month closure due to the lockdown. More than 25,000 devotees turned up to offer prayers at the famous temple. Before opening the temple, its management had issued a notice saying that only 400 devotees will be allowed in a day.

Delhi: Doctors' Association defers indefinite strike in 'public interest'

Delhi's air quality improves to 'poor' with wind speed; stubble burning likely to increase

Air quality in the national capital was recorded 'poor' on Monday, even as pollution levels dipped slightly due to favourable wind speed. However, the share of stubble burning in the city's pollution is likely to increase, according to the Ministry of Earth Sciences' Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi. On Sunday, a central government agency reported 1,230 farm fires in Delhi's neighbouring states -- the maximum in a day so far this season.
