NGT directs UP to keep vigil on brick kilns in wake of pollution in NCR
The National Green Tribunal has directed the Uttar Pradesh administration to keep a vigil against illegal operation of brick kilns to protect the air quality in the National Capital Region. A bench headed by NGT chairperson Justice AK Goel noted that brick kiln industry contributed about 5 to 7 per cent of PM10 emissions in winter and summer, respectively, to ambient air of Delhi and NCR.

Internet services suspended in Rajasthan's Bharatpur in wake of Gujjar Mahapanchayat
The administration has suspended 2G/3G/4G data internet services, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and other social media (except voice calls) in the wake of the Gujjar Mahapanchayat called today. The suspension of services came into effect from midnight of October 16 and will stay in place till midnight on October 17th in Bayana, Weir, Bhusawar and Rupwas of Bharatpur district.

Air India to operate flights to Germany from October 26
Delhi's air quality 'poor'; locals complain of breathing, throat problems
Even though the central government and Delhi government are making efforts to curb the pollution level, the air quality continues to dip in the national capital for the last one week. Air Quality Index (AQI) is at 294 in ITO, 256 in RK Puram, 286 in Anand Vihar, all three in the 'poor' category, according to Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) data. AQI stands at 325 in DTU and 381 in Wazirpur, in the 'very poor' category. An AQI between 0-50 is marked good, 51-100 is satisfactory, 101-200 is moderate, 201-300 is poor, 301-400 is very poor and 401-500 is considered severe.

The temple, which opened for the monthly puja on Friday evening, will allow pilgrims to offer prayers till October 21.
