A man, who appeared to have fallen asleep in his car under the influence of alcohol with the AC on, was found dead in his vehicle, the police said on Monday. The body of the man, identified as Sundar Pandit, was found by his brother on Sunday but the family did not lodge any complaint alleging any mischief in the death, they said.

A powerful explosion rocked West Bengal's Kolkata on Tuesday. According to the details, the blast was reported from the Beleghata area of the city. A portion of the roof of the Beleghata Gandhimath Friends Circle Club was blown off due to the impact of the explosion.

Delhi air quality back to 'poor' level; residents complain of eye irritation
The national capital woke up to "poor" air quality on Monday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 275 in Delhi's ITO and Anand Vihar areas, according to Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC). The Air Quality Index is at 263 in Rohini and 229 in Nehru Nagar, all in the "poor" category, according to the DPCC.

8 Indian beaches get 'Blue Flag' tag. Check full 'clean-beach' list
In a great honour, India is now among 50 countries that have at least eight beaches winning the clean-beach certification by the Foundation for Environment Education (FEE), Denmark. The list includes Puri's Golden beach and two beaches of Karnataka, among others. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took to Twitter to share the news. He posted, "8 of India’s serene beaches get the prestigious Blue Flag Certification. This showcases the importance India attaches to protecting such spots and furthering sustainable development."
