Delhi air quality back to 'poor' level; residents complain of eye irritation

The national capital woke up to "poor" air quality on Monday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 275 in Delhi's ITO and Anand Vihar areas, according to Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC). The Air Quality Index is at 263 in Rohini and 229 in Nehru Nagar, all in the "poor" category, according to the DPCC.

8 Indian beaches get 'Blue Flag' tag. Check full 'clean-beach' list

In a great honour, India is now among 50 countries that have at least eight beaches winning the clean-beach certification by the Foundation for Environment Education (FEE), Denmark. The list includes Puri's Golden beach and two beaches of Karnataka, among others. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took to Twitter to share the news. He posted, "8 of India’s serene beaches get the prestigious Blue Flag Certification. This showcases the importance India attaches to protecting such spots and furthering sustainable development."

Resident doctors at Delhi's Hindu Rao Hospital withdraw services over salary dues

The Resident Doctors Association (RDA) of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation-run Hindu Rao Hospital on Sunday withdrew from work after the administration failed to meet the deadline for releasing their salaries. The RDA had on Friday threatened to withdraw the services if the administration did not pay their salaries within 48 hours. The deadline expired on Sunday morning.
