2 Navy officers killed after glider on routine flight crashes in Kochi

Two Navy personnel died as a glider on routine flight crashed in Kerala's Kochi on Sunday morning. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, the defence spokesperson said. The two Navy officers onboard a naval power glider crashed near the Thoppumpady bridge in Kochi.

Jammu and Kashmir: Pakistan resorts to heavy shelling on LoC in Poonch

Pakistan resorted to heavy shelling and firing on Sunday at Indian positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. At about 3.20 a.m., Pakistan initiated the unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and intense shelling with mortars along the LoC in Mankote sector, Defence Ministry Spokesman Colonel Devender Anand said. "Indian army retaliated befittingly," he added.

India records single-day spike of 75,829 COVID-19 cases, 940 deaths; tally crosses 65-lakh mark

India on Sunday recorded as many as 75,829 new coronavirus cases and 940 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to Union health ministry data. India's Covid-19 tally crossed 65 lakh-mark with Maharashtra recording the highest number of cases. The total cases of coronavirus infections stand at 65,49,374 while the death toll climbed to 1,01,782 the data updated at 8 am showed. Out of these 9,37,625 are active cases, 55,09,967 recovered, according to the health ministry.
