Woman shot, dumped on road by Delhi cop; saved by another cop

A woman was shot allegedly by a Delhi Police Sub-Inspector and dumped on the road in Alipur area in the city's northern outskirts on Sunday. The injured woman was, however, found by another Sub-Inspector and taken to hospital where her condition is said to be stable.

Southwest Delhi withdraws order revoking home isolation of COVID cases above 60

Days after issuing the order to revoke home isolation of COVID-19 positive cases which either age above 60 or suffer from comorbidities, the district administration of Southwest (SW) Delhi has now withdrawn it with immediate effect on Sunday. "Order no. ADM/Sw/Misc/2020-21/42829/ dated 21.9.2020 issued by this office is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect and guidelines in this regard to home isolation as issued by DGHS from time to time shall be followed by all medical officers in South West district," the latest order read.

Karnataka Bandh: Farmers to protest against state farm bills, amendments to land reforms acts

A state-wide bandh would be observed in Karnataka today (on Monday) by various farmers' organisations, protesting the amendments to the APMC and land reforms acts made by the BS Yediyurappa government. The dawn-to-dusk bandh call has been supported by several pro-Kannada and other outfits besides the opposition Congress and the JD(S), who had opposed the amendment bills in the assembly. It is also backed by several labour organisations who are protesting against amendments to certain labour laws during the brief assembly session that concluded on Saturday.

Delhi hospital doctor claims patient, her attendant assaulted him when asked to wear mask

A doctor was allegedly assaulted by a patient and her attendant at the Delhi government-run Maharishi Valmiki Hospital when they were asked to wear a mask and wait for their turn. Police have registered a case after the hospital filed a complaint.
