An Uttar Pradesh Police constable was suspended late on Saturday night after a video clip showed him thrashing a physically handicapped man in Kannauj. The Kannauj Police announced the suspension from its Twitter handle.
National convener of AAP and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday appealed to all non-BJP parties to vote against three agriculture-related bills in the Rajya Sabha, saying farmers in the country wished so. The Rajasthan government on Saturday decided to impose Section 144 of the CrPC in 11 districts of the state due to rising number of coronavirus cases. The state has 33 districts and the provision prohibits an assembly of more than five persons at a place. According to a release, the government also decided to continue the ban on social or religious functions till October 31.

India's Covid-19 tally crossed 54 lakh-mark with Maharashtra recording the highest number of cases. Out of these 43,03,044 cured/discharged/migrated, according to the health ministry.
