The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Wednesday announced that the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor is being built as part of the Phase-4 project that has been christened as 'Silver Line'. This will be the 10th corridor of the network so it will also be called Line 10. "Silver has been selected as the colour code for the Tughlakabad-Aerocity Metro corridor of Phase 4," the DMRC said in a statement.

COVID-19 vaccine to be available in India by start of next year, says Health Minister Harsh Vardhan
Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Thursday said that the coronavirus vaccine will be made available in the country by the start of next year. The remarks come at a time when India is recording more than 50 lakh cases and people are awaiting the vaccine with bated breath. "Just like other countries, India is also making efforts. Three vaccine candidates are in different phases. Under Prime Minister's guidance, an expert group is looking at it and there is advanced planning in place. We are hopeful that by the start of next year a vaccine will be available in India," Harsh Vardhan said in Rajya Sabha.

1 dead, 50 injured as bus overturns on Agra-Lucknow Expressway
A 40-year-old man died and at least 50 people were injured when a bus overturned after hitting a culvert on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district on Thursday, police said. There were around 80 passengers in the double-decker bus that was on its way to Gorakhpur from Anand Vihar in Delhi.

Bengal forests to reopen for tourists from Sept 23; guidelines to be issued
Forests in West Bengal will be opened for tourists from September 23, officials said on Thursday. Every year the forests close down for two months due to the monsoon -- from July 15 to September 15, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic the forests have been out of bounds for tourists since the beginning of the lockdown in March, they said.

100-year-old woman beats COVID-19 in Assam

The Managing Director of Arya Vaidya Pharmacy and Chancellor of city-based Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, P R Krishnakumar passed away here on Wednesday night. The 69-year old Padma Shree recipient was undergoing treatment for coronavirus infection in a private hospital here and he breathed his last on Wednesday night, sources close to him said on Thursday.
