On Wednesday, members of Bharatiya Sindhu Sena cut a 70 feet long cake to celebrate ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 70th birthday, in Bhopal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was born on September 17, 1950 in a Gujarati family in Vadnagar. He was the third of six children born to Damodardas Mulchand Modi and Hiraben. Modi used to help his father sell tea as a child and later he ran his own stall. J&K: 3 terrorists killed, 2 CRPF personnel injured during encounter in Srinagar

At least three terrorists were killed during an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar early on Thursday. The gunfight was reported from Batamaloo area of Srinagar, officials said. A woman was also killed, while two CRPF personnel were injured in the predawn gun battle with militants, they said.

India-China border row: Rajnath Singh to make statement in Rajya Sabha today

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to make a statement in the Rajya Sabha today (Thursday) on the border row with China in eastern Ladakh, sources have said. After his statement, leaders from the Opposition will speak and the defence minister may give clarification if required and if the Chair permits, the sources said. This was decided in a meeting of floor leaders of the Rajya Sabha which was attended by Singh along with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and Leader of the House Thawwarchand Gehlot.
