Opinion | China is not willing to listen to reason

In the first official statement in Parliament on the India-China military standoff in Ladakh, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said,  China is trying to unilaterally alter the status quo on the Line of Actual Control, while India wants to peacefully resolve the ongoing confrontation. Singh said, India is fully prepared to deal with any situation and the morale of Indian troops remains high despite several face-offs with the Chinese troops. “The Chinese actions reflect a disregard of our various bilateral agreements”, the Defence Minister said.

Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta tests COVID-19 positive

Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta on Wednesday said he has tested positive for COVID-19. Taking to Twitter, the Delhi BJP chief said he was tested again after he had complained of mild fever and that his report has now come out to be positive.

No infiltration along India-China border in last six months: Govt

There has not been any Chinese infiltration in the last six months, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has informed the members of the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. In a written response to an unstarred question by BJP MP from Rajya Sabha Dr Anil Agrawal, Minister of State (Mos) for Home Nityanand Rai has said, “no infiltration has been reported along the Indo-China border during the last six months.”

Mumbai: Building with 10 or more COVID positive cases to be sealed, says BMC

In a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Mumbai, the city civic body has decided to seal an entire building if 10 or more coronavirus infection cases are found there. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) health department issued the revised protocols on Tuesday after civic chief Iqbal Singh Chahal held a meeting to review the COVID-19 situation.

Nearly 12 missing as boat capsizes in Rajasthan's Chambal river

Around 10-12 people were reported missing after a boat carrying over 40 devotees to a temple in Bundi district of Rajasthan capsized in the Chambal river on Wednesday morning, police said. Around 25 people were rescued, they added. The incident took place near the Dhibri Chambal area under the Khatoli police station limits of Kota.
