India has now become a member of the United Nation's Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The development was confirmed by TS Tirumurti, permanent representative of India to the United Nations. Taking to Twitter early on Tuesday, Tirumurti said India wins seat in the prestigious ECOSOC body and it’s a ringing endorsement of our commitment to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in all our endeavours.

Nearly 2.5 lakh commuters take Delhi Metro till 7.30 pm on Monday
Nearly 2.5 lakh commuters used the services of the Delhi Metro across various corridors till late evening on Monday, the first working day since the resumption of full services post 169-day hiatus due to COVID-19. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Saturday had gone back to its schedule as it was before the services were suspended on March 22 to contain the spread of infection.

More COVID-19 tests in Delhi than in any other part of the world, says Kejriwal
Delhi is conducting the highest number of COVID-19 tests in the whole world, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said during the one-day session of the Assembly on Monday. Amid a surge in COVID-19 cases, Kejriwal said the matter of concern should be the number of deaths and not cases as he claimed that the coronavirus death rate in the national capital is perhaps the lowest in the world.

Will there be another lockdown from September 25? Here's what Centre says
Reports of a nationwide lockdown set to be imposed from September 25 have been refuted by the Press Information Bureau (PIB). On Monday, the PIB said no lockdown will be imposed from September 25 onwards and cinema halls will not be reopening from October 1. An order stating that the National Disaster Management Authority and Planning Commission have "directed the Prime Minister Office" to impose a strict nationwide lockdown of 46 days from September 25, was doing rounds on social media.
