A physically challenged man was caught in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri district for allegedly selling illicit liquor. The accused Amit Kumar, who is the sole breadwinner for a family of five, wa, however, released by the police after they learned that he had not received his disability pension for the past three months and had been selling liquor, pan masala, balloons and candies on his tricycle to make ends meet.

COVID-19 positive prisoners escape Pune's Yerawada prison
Two undertrial prisoners, who had tested positive for COVID-19, escaped from a temporary jail set up by Yerawada Central Prison in Pune early morning on Saturday, jail officials informed. Both inmates were kept into a quarantine facility of the jail.

India records 95,735 cases, 1,172 deaths in a single-day; tally crosses 44 lakh-mark
India on Thursday recorded as many as 95,735 new coronavirus cases, taking the national caseload crosses 44-lakh mark, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With 1,172 more deaths in the last 24 hours, the cumulative toll reached 75062. The total case tally stands at 44,65,864 including 9,190,18 active cases.

Starting today, doctor's prescription not needed for RT-PCR COVID test in Delhi
Starting today, residents of Delhi can get themselves tested for COVID-19 through RT-PCR, without a doctor's prescription. Earlier, a prescription written by a registered medical practitioner was required at any testing center, however, now it has been decided that there will be no requirement of a prescription from a qualified medical practitioner. The number of such tests would be limited to 2,000 a day and would be subject to the individual presenting an Aadhaar with a Delhi address. The additional 2,000 tests are besides the daily total testing capacity of 12,000 available with the Delhi government.

28-year-old COVID patient goes missing after ambulance picks her from home
A 28-year-old woman, who had tested positive for the novel coronavirus went missing after she was ferried by an ambulance. The incident was reported on September 4, from Bengaluru's Bommanahalli, where the ambulance had come to pick the patient up from her home. According to the girl's family, On September 3, several others were also tested for COVID-19, along with the missing girl. A mass testing program was conducted in the zone to identify those who could test positive.
