Kangana in HC seeking stay on Bandra office demolition; leaders call BMC act 'vendetta'

Kangana Ranaut's lawyer on Wednesday filed a plea in the High Court against the demolition drive by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) at the actor's property. The court will hear the matter at 12:30 PM today. The Shiv Sena-controlled Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday demolished "illegal alterations" at the Bandra bungalow of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. The actor meanwhile has alleged that the Maharashtra government is targeting her because of her fight with the Shiv Sena.

BMC to demolish Kangana Ranaut's Bandra office; actress says 'it's my Ram Mandir'

Oil sheen observed at backside of MT New Diamond ship carrying 3 lakh ton of crude oil

The Indian Coast Guard has said oil sheen has been observed astern/backside of the very large crude carrier (VLCC) New Diamond that has been on fire for the past six days. The Coast Guard said oil spill dispersants were sprayed by its Dornier aircraft to neutralise. The ship is laden with about 300,000 ton of Kuwaiti crude oil for Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) was bound to India's Paradip Port in Odisha where the former has a large refinery. On Tuesday, the Coast Guard said the vessel is trimmed by aft (backside of the ship dipped down into the water) by about three feet or by about one metre.

Allahabad HC stays demolition of Azam Khan's resort

The Allahabad High Court has stayed the demolition of 'Humsafar', a resort belonging to Tanzeen Fatima, wife of Samajwadi Party MP Mohd Azam Khan. The order was passed on Tuesday by a two-judge bench comprising Justice S. K. Gupta and Justice Piyush Agrawal on a petition filed by Tazeen Fatima against the order of demolition by the Uttar Pradesh government.

Chardham NH project: Roads can't be wider than 5.5 m, says Supreme Court

The circular issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, with respect to the construction of roads in hilly areas should be followed, the Supreme Court on Tuesday said. The circular, which was issued in 2018 states that the carriageway width shall be of intermediate lane configurations, that is of 5.5 metre width, with two-lane structures. The circular was issued with respect to the construction of Chardham highway project, providing all-weather connectivity to four holy towns of Uttarakhand.
