The statement by the actor had triggered angry reactions from the Maharashtra government and Shiv Sena leaders.

India records 75,809 COVID cases, 1,133 deaths in a single-day; tally nears 43 lakh-mark
India on Tuesday recorded as many as 75,809 new coronavirus cases, taking the national caseload near 43-lakh mark, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With 1,133 more deaths in the last 24 hours, the cumulative toll reached 72,775. The total case tally stands at 42,80,422 including 8,83,697active cases.

Maharashtra hospital, overcharging COVID-19 patients, asked to deposit amount in CM's fund
A private hospital in Maharashtra has been asked by the district administration to deposit Rs 1.93 lakh into the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for allegedly overcharging COVID-19 patients, officials said. Jalna Collector Ravindra Binwade issued the order on Monday following complaints that some private hospitals were charging hefty amounts from COVID-19 patients.

Over 15,000 passengers travelled on Delhi Metro following resumption of services on day 1
As many as 15,500 passengers availed the services of Delhi Metro's Yellow Line and Gurugram's Rapid Metro till 8.30 p.m. on Monday, the first day of resumption of metro services since India went into lockdown in late March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "This is an approximate figure as the last trains started from terminal stations at 8.30 p.m. Final figures may have minor upward revision by the end of revenue service," said a DMRC official.
