NEET 2020 exams are set to be conducted from September 13 and the authorities with the National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam have received an application from a Kashmiri youth, who is an accused in the Pulwama terror attack. According to media reports, the applicant, identified as Waiz Ul Islam was named as one of the 19 accused by NIA in its chargesheet for the Pulwama terror attack which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF soldiers. Islam has now sought permission from the NIA Special Court in Jammu, to appear for the upcoming NEET 2020 exams.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) sleuths from the South Western Railway (SWR) zone have busted a complex web of illegal operators and hackers who used Pakistani software to compromise the IRCTC Tatkal system to stealthily book reserved tickets, bypassing the Indian Railways as well as the banks OTP safeguards, an official said on Tuesday. "In September last year, intelligence agencies alerted on the use of illegal software for bypassing the IRCTC and bank security systems deployed in booking Tatkal tickets throughout India," said a railway zone official.

The Indian Army busted multiple hideouts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition. The Army officials announced that on August 30, it detected the movement of suspicious persons in Rampur Sector, Baramulla district.

Mumbai: Devotees bid farewell to Lord Ganesh in subdued manner
The immersion of idols of Lord Ganesh, which in previous years used to be an elaborate affair at the end of the 10-day Ganpati festival, was being conducted without any fanfare on Tuesday in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 35,000 police personnel were deployed across the city and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation also made arrangements for incident-free immersion of idols on the occasion of 'Anant Chaturdashi', marking the culmination of the 10-day festivities.

Delhi HC holds physical courts after 5-month gap with mixed response from lawyers
The legal fraternity gave a mixed response to the commencement of physical hearings by the Delhi High Court on Tuesday, after a gap of more than five months, with several lawyers asking the court that their matters be heard via video conferencing. The high court has been conducting hearings through video conferencing since March 24 to contain the spread of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
