Home Minister Amit Shah, who was admitted to AIIMS for post COVID care, likely to be discharged soon

Home Minister Amit Shah has recovered and is likely to be discharged from All India Institute for Medical Sciences (AIIMS) soon, a hospital statement said on Saturday. The Union Home Minister was admitted on August 18 for post-COVID care. He had tested positive for coronavirus and was initially treated at Medanta Hospital at Gurugram.

Indore sero survey: Antibodies found in nearly 8% people

Of the total number of people tested in Indore under the sero survey earlier this month, 7.72 per cent were found to have developed antibodies to COVID-19, an official said. Indore is the worst-hit district in Madhya Pradesh in terms of the number of coronavirus positive cases and fatalities.

877 newborns, 61 pregnant women die in Meghalaya in last four months: Official

At least 61 pregnant women and 877 newborns have died in Meghalaya in the last four months starting from April for want of admission to hospitals and also due to lack of medical attention because of diversion of the health machinery to fight COVID-19 pandemic, a senior health department official said.

J&K highway reopens for traffic after 4 days

After remaining blocked for four days due to landslides triggered by incessant rains, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway reopened for traffic on Saturday, officials said. More than 4,000 vehicles, mostly trucks, carrying supplies for the Kashmir Valley were stranded on the highway.

Pranab Mukherjee's renal parameters improve: Hospital

Former President Pranab Mukherjee's renal parameters have improved, the Army Research and Referral Hospital said on Saturday. He was admitted to the Army's Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi Cantonment on August 10, where he was operated for removal of a clot in the brain.
